The Shield and The Dogs of War got their feud rolling at tonight’s (Sun., Sept. 16, 2018) Hell in a Cell pay-per-view (PPV) at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, with Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler defending the Raw tag team titles against Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose.
Or trying to.
The story of much of the match was the usual for a tag team affair, with the heels doing a number on the babyfaces with various shady tactics to their benefit, like making sure a referee didn’t see a legitimate tag and then taking advantage when he enforced it. They even managed to get the crowd to chant at how the ref sucks.
It turned into one hell of a chaotic mess of a match that had fans on their feet all throughout. They did multiple great false finishes, and the actual finish was just as good.
Rollins hit the Superplex and as he was rolling through, McIntyre ran in to hit the Claymore. Ziggler, still the legal man, made the pin to retain the titles. After, McIntyre literally carried him out on his shoulders.
What a match.
